You've put a lot of time, money, and energy into getting your ICF PCC. Here's how you renew it while building toward your MCC skills and training requirements.
Our biggest tip: start early!
This page will show you everything you need to know to renew your ICF coach credential.
Let's get started!
This is only a guide. Use the ICF's renewal page for definitive informationWe make every effort to keep this information up-to-date, but the ICF sometimes adjusts their definitions and requirements with little notice. Here's the ICF's Renewal page. Use our renewal application instructions to help get you to the right place. |
Step 2: Find out when your coach credential expiresGo here and look up your name to find the date of your credential expiration. If your name is listed and you're within the expiration date, move to the next step. If your name isn't listed, it could mean one of a few things:

Step 4: Take the most efficient Core Competency CCEsHere's a renewal power tip: gather CCEs for your renewal that will also help you reach your next coach credential. See renewal suggestions for PCC: Renewing your PCC with Level 3 Courses: Don't just go through the motions collecting random CCEs, instead learn something to advance your skills toward an MCC! Our Level 3 The Art of Masterful Coaching program will move you from PCC to an MCC skill level. We offer one cohort a year, which qualifies as 25 Core Competency training hours toward your MCC and towards renewing your PCC. Just add the free Ethics class (see Step 5) and a few free Resource Development hours (see Step 6) and you're set to renew your PCC. After you've taken the Level 3 Cohort three different years, you'll have completed the program and receive a Level 3 Certificate. Renewing your PCC with Level 2 Courses: If you want to brush up and advance your PCC skills, take our Level 2 courses. Each count as CCE Core Competency hours.
|
Step 5: Take 3 ICF Ethics hoursAll ICF Credential-holders are required to demonstrate completion of at least three CCEs in the area of coaching ethics to be eligible for renewal of their ICF Credentials.
|
For your remaining CCEs, you can take additional courses from our Level 2 program, or you can do what the ICF calls Resource Development. Resource Development is any learning that falls outside of the ICF Core Competencies, but still contributes to a coach’s professional development (e.g., personal development, coaching tools or personality and productivity assessments, business building, etc.). CRM Coach’s Community events such as the Coach’s Café and Coaching Demonstrations can count as Resource Development hours.
The ICF lists many options and how to document them on this page. And here's a couple examples of how to write up what you report Resource Development to the ICF.
